The Nutcracker is an MBC tradition. Each year MBC puts on 3-4 performances of the Nutcracker over the weekends leading up to Christmas.
Performance opportunities are for dancers ages 7 and older and MBC welcomes any dancers that wishes to participate in the performance.
Auditions for the 2011 Nutcracker will be held during our Annual Registration day Friday August 26th. Dancers who are in level 1A or 7 years old by August 26th may attend the audition from 11:30-12:15 on Friday August 26th at our studio. After that time the Nutcracker is cast and dancers will be notified of their parts. For a Nutcracker Performance Agreement CLICK HERE.
Casting is always done by the choreographer and is final. Dancers that have been cast are expected to attend rehearsals that are in addition to their scheduled class times. Dancers and parents should take that into consideration before signing up to participate. Dancers that miss more than two rehearsals may be removed from the performance. All dancers that agree to be in the Nutcracker will be asked to pay a $40 performance fee. This is due at the time of registration and will be used to purchase, alter, and/or clean your child’s costume.
There are many backstage opportunities for parents at all these performances and we encourage you to sign up to help. Only parents that have signed up for a backstage duty will be allowed backstage.

Saturday December 10th at 1pm and 5pm
Sunday December 11th at 1pm and 5pm
Adults $17, Students/Seniors $14, Children 12 and under $10
