Volunteer Opportunities
Our organization is a non-profit entity dependent on tuition, as well as grants, personal and corporate donations. In addition to these funding sources, we are also dependent on contributions of volunteer time by the parents/guardians of our students and community members. The volunteer assistance is critical to the success of our organization. New ideas and talents from members keep our program dynamic and strong.
It is the expectation that all ballet families and adult students will volunteer their time and talents throughout the year. These responsibilities are in addition to our performance opportunities. There are many options within our organization to offer your support. Listed below are prospective areas of interest. Please select anare in which you would like to donate your time.
Board of Directors
MBC is managed by a board of directors. The board consists of 13 members. These individuals are parents, guardians, or adult students from within our organization, or community members who bring an interest in the arts and talents that will support the needs of our group.
The board administers the vision and mission of the ballet. They also serve on individual committees that oversee the direction of MBC. These committies involve a number of individuals with a variety of talents and abilities.
Other Volunteer Opportunities
If you would prefer to offer your support in another manner, please consider the opportunity to assist MBC by:
- Staffing our office
- Being a class parent
- Assisting with fund raising events
- Helping with clothing sales
Volunteering for Performances
Providing performance opportunities is a very important part of our mission. We spend a great deal of time planning and creating these productions for our dancers. Through the efforts of many, many volunteers, we offer an experience of a lifetime and an artistic experience few small communities enjoy.
If you child chooses to participate in one of our performance opportunities, we will expect you to offer your time to make our performance a success. If you like to work from home, you can make phone calls. If you like to build and paint, we can use your talents on our scenery committee. If you like to sew, we are creating and repairing costumes throughout the year. If you are organized, you can assist our house manager with ticket sales, marketing, posters, gifts, or concession and flower sales.
We appreciate the commitment of your time to support the mission of the Mankato Ballet Company. With the assistance of our families and the community, we will continue to provide a superior experience for all our students.
